Getting your dog to use it

The part most people get wrong
How long before my dog actually uses it?

Most dogs claim it within the first few days. Some don't. Our slowest reviewer took four weeks and nearly sent it back around day twelve.

If your dog is older, stubborn, or slow to accept anything new, go in expecting patience. And whatever you do, don't skip the scent step below, because that's the single biggest difference between the dogs who take to it immediately and the ones who ignore it.

What is the scent step, and does it really matter?

Before your dog ever sees the blanket, keep it on your own bed or couch for a night or two. That's it. The fleece picks up your scent, and your scent is what makes the blanket mean something to your dog.

It matters more than anything else you can do. A brand new blanket straight out of the packaging smells of nothing, which to a dog is just a strange object on the floor. The same blanket after two nights in your bed smells like safety.

My dog sniffed it and walked away. What now?

Normal, and usually fixable. Three things to try, in order:

  • Re-scent it. Another two nights on your bed, or sleep with it over you.
  • Move it. Put it in the spot they already choose to rest in, not where you'd like them to rest.
  • Leave it completely alone. No calling them over, no treats on it, no lifting them onto it.

Dogs claim things they discover. They resist things that are handed to them.

Should I put my dog on it?

No. This is the most common mistake. Placing a dog on something turns it into your idea rather than theirs, and anxious dogs in particular push back on that. Put it down, walk away, and let them find it.

Does it work for puppies?

Yes, and the first week home is one of the best times to introduce it. Put an old worn t-shirt on it as well for the first few nights. Puppies settle faster with a familiar smell than with almost anything else you can buy.

What about senior dogs?

Senior dogs often take a little longer to accept something new, but owners of older dogs tell us the warmth is the part they notice most, especially on cold floors and in the first hour of the morning. Give it two weeks rather than two days.

Will my cat use it?

Almost certainly, and we hear about it constantly. Cats are drawn to anything dense they can knead and burrow into. Several customers have ended up buying a second one because the cat refused to give the first one back.

🧵

The blanket itself

Size, material, care
What size is it?

One generous size: 27″ × 40″ (69 × 102 cm). Most dogs can fully stretch out on it, and it covers a standard car back seat. It folds small enough for a crate, a suitcase or a footwell.

Genuinely giant breeds — a mastiff, a great dane — will hang off the ends. It still works as a spot to lie on, just know that going in.

Why is it yellow? Can I get another colour?

One colour, and it's yellow on purpose rather than for looks.

Dogs are red-green colourblind. Greys, browns and reds — the colours almost every dog blanket is made in — flatten out and disappear in low light. Blue and yellow stay visible to them. That means your dog can find this one at 2am in a dark room, or in the back of a moving car, when a grey blanket would be invisible.

We'd rather make one that works than five that match living rooms.

What's it made of?

A dense polyester fleece. The density is the point: it holds scent for weeks rather than days, it traps your dog's body heat without generating any of its own, and it has enough weight to encourage burrowing instead of shredding.

Is it a weighted blanket?

No, and that's deliberate. Weighted blankets for dogs are a different product with real safety considerations around a dog's ability to get out from under them. This is a dense blanket, not a weighted one — heavy enough to feel substantial and stay put, light enough that any dog can walk out from under it whenever they want.

Will my dog chew it up?

The weight makes most dogs burrow instead of shred, which is exactly the behaviour the design is aiming for. Thin blankets trigger the same instinct a plush toy does, and that's when they get destroyed.

That said: a determined chewer is a determined chewer. If your dog has never met a soft thing he didn't destroy, this might end up in the same pile. That's precisely what the 30 nights are for.

Can I wash it?

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. It won't pill, shrink or lose its shape — reviewers six washes in say it still looks new.

One important thing: washing strips your scent out of it. After every wash, put it back on your own bed for a night before giving it back to your dog. Skip that and you may see them lose interest for a few days.

Does it hold fur and smell?

It collects fur like any fleece, but it comes off easily with a lint roller or a shake outdoors. On odour, the material doesn't hold it the way cotton does — owners regularly mention it still smelling fine after three weeks down.

My dog runs hot. Will it overheat them?

It holds body heat rather than producing any, so a dog that's too warm simply moves half off it, the same way they would with any blanket. Owners of huskies and shepherds haven't flagged a problem. If your home runs very warm, your dog will likely lie on it rather than under it.

Anxiety, honestly

What it does and doesn't do
Will this fix my dog's separation anxiety?

No, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. If your dog is destroying doors, injuring himself, or panicking the moment you pick up your keys, that is a behavioural problem that needs a trainer or a vet. A blanket is not a treatment.

What owners do tell us is that it reduces the damage and gives the dog something familiar to settle on while they work on the real thing. Nobody has ever told us it cured separation anxiety, and we'd be suspicious of any product that claimed to.

Does it help with fireworks and thunderstorms?

This is where we hear the best results. Put it somewhere enclosed and quiet before the noise starts — a basement, a bathroom, under a table — rather than after your dog is already panicking.

It won't make a frightened dog unafraid. What it does is give them somewhere to go, so instead of clawing at a door they have a destination.

My dog panics in the car. Will this help?

Car anxiety is one of the most common reasons people buy it. Lay it across the back seat before the dog gets in, so they're climbing onto something that already smells like home rather than onto a strange bench.

It also catches most of the fur, which is a smaller benefit people mention almost as often.

Is this a substitute for a vet or a trainer?

No. If your dog's anxiety is severe, worsening, or new — especially if it appeared suddenly in an older dog — please see a vet, because sudden behavioural change can have a medical cause. This is a comfort object, not a medical device, and it does not treat or cure anxiety disorders.

How is this different from a calming bed?

A bed is home base. It sits in one room and stays there. The problem most owners run into is that their dog is fine at home and falls apart the moment they leave the house — the car, the vet, the crate, somebody else's living room.

This is the version that travels. If your dog only struggles at home, honestly, buy a good bed instead.

Shipping & delivery

Free, worldwide, tracked
How much is shipping?

Free, worldwide, on every order. No minimum, no threshold, no surprise at checkout.

How long will it take to arrive?

Orders leave within 24 hours. After that:

  • US and Canada: 3 to 6 days
  • Everywhere else: 7 to 12 days

Those are typical windows, not guarantees. Peak season and customs can add a few days.

Do you ship to my country?

We ship worldwide. If checkout won't accept your address, email us and we'll sort it manually.

Will I get tracking?

Yes, emailed the moment your order leaves. If it hasn't arrived within 24 hours of ordering, check your spam folder first — that's where it is roughly nine times out of ten.

Will I pay customs or import duties?

Orders inside the US have nothing extra to pay. For other countries, import duties and taxes are set by your own government and are outside our control, so they may be charged on delivery and would be your responsibility.

In practice, at this order value most destinations fall under the threshold where anything is charged. If you do get an unexpected charge, email us and we'll help.

What if it arrives damaged or never turns up?

Email us with your order number and a photo if it's damaged. We'll send a replacement or refund you — your choice, no argument. Lost parcels are our problem to chase, not yours.

Returns, refunds & orders

The 30-night guarantee
How does the 30-night guarantee work?

Use it for 30 nights. If your dog isn't settling better, email us inside that window and we refund you in full.

We say nights rather than days on purpose — this product needs a couple of weeks to show what it does, and a 30-day clock that starts when you order isn't the same thing as a fair trial.

Do I have to send it back?

No. Shipping a used dog blanket back across the world costs more than the blanket is worth and helps nobody. Keep it, pass it to a friend, or donate it to a shelter — a local rescue will always take it.

How do I actually request a refund?

One email to nestria.info.store@gmail.com with your order number. That's the whole process. No form, no photos, no return label, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.

Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually show up within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Email us as soon as you can. Because orders leave within 24 hours, we can usually change an address or cancel if you reach us the same day. After it ships we can't recall it, but the 30-night guarantee still covers you.

Is there a discount for buying more than one?

Yes, and it applies automatically at checkout. 15% off two, 25% off three. Pick the bundle on the product page and the discount is already in the price you see.

Most people who buy two keep one at home and one permanently in the car.

What payment methods do you take?

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. Checkout runs on Shopify's own secure checkout, so your card details never touch our site.
